Once again, we are excited<\/strong> to present the Creas 2023 Impact Report.<\/p>\n

This document summarizes the efforts<\/strong> and achievements<\/strong> of our portfolio companies over the past year.<\/p>\n

As in previous years, we also wanted to dive deeper into a critical issue<\/strong> in impact measurement<\/strong> and management<\/strong>. This time, we conducted a survey<\/strong> among the entrepreneurs in our ecosystem to gain first-hand insight into their perception of the value<\/strong> that impact and its measurement bring to their companies.<\/p>\n

Additionally, we collaborated with three experts<\/strong> who helped us explore the challenges<\/strong> and opportunities<\/strong> in our main investment areas<\/strong>: education<\/strong>, elderly care<\/strong>, and the circular economy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We are proud<\/strong> to share that since the launch of Creas Impact in 2019, our portfolio has impacted 5.2 million people<\/strong> and has saved over 165,000 tons<\/strong> of CO2, 3,600 tons<\/strong> of waste, and 60,000 tons<\/strong> of chemicals.<\/p>\n

These figures reflect the commitment of our portfolio companies to climate regeneration<\/strong> and improving people's quality of life<\/strong>. Impact investing<\/strong> has grown significantly in recent years, both in Spain, where it has nearly reached \u20ac1,000M<\/strong>, and globally, largely due to a combination of changes in consumer behavior and new regulations<\/strong>, such as the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR)<\/strong> in Europe.<\/p>\n

At Creas, we continue to grow and evolve, reaching a major milestone<\/strong> in 2024 with the launch and first closing of our new fund, Creas Impacto II<\/strong>. With the growth of both the sector and Creas, we believe it is more important than ever to continue promoting an investment vision that truly places impact<\/strong> and social transformation<\/strong> at the heart of business management and value creation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why we keep deepening our focus on various aspects of impact measurement<\/strong>, convinced that measuring and prioritizing impact generates long-term value<\/strong> for companies. As an impact fund<\/strong>, our mission is to support companies in developing in this area to contribute long-term value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Therefore, this year we surveyed nearly 300 European companies<\/strong> in our network to better understand their perception of the added value<\/strong> of impact in their companies. We analyzed three areas: strategy<\/strong>, talent attraction and retention<\/strong>, and capital attraction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From the survey, we learned that entrepreneurs especially value having impact-oriented investors<\/strong> and board members to support decision-making<\/strong> that prioritizes and effectively scales impact. We also found that entrepreneurs believe that impact particularly helps with talent retention<\/strong>, though fewer than half of the companies have incentive plans<\/strong> linked to impact.<\/p>\n

We want to understand how impact<\/strong> and its measurement<\/strong> become a lever for long-term value creation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With the launch of Creas Impacto II<\/strong>, over the next 5 years we will continue to support companies that are transforming their sectors, multiplying our impact<\/strong> and our ability to create value. That\u2019s why we have also delved deeper into Europe\u2019s social and environmental challenges<\/strong> and opportunities.<\/p>\n

Asking ourselves how to solve the teacher shortage<\/strong> in Europe, understanding how artificial intelligence<\/strong> can help personalize education<\/strong>, discovering new models of care<\/strong> and self-care<\/strong> for the elderly, or exploring new circular<\/strong> and regenerative models<\/strong> are all part of what will help us truly contribute to the meaningful world<\/strong> we strive for.<\/p>\n

To ensure systemic changes<\/strong>, we must continue driving increasingly rigorous impact measurement<\/strong>, capable of demonstrating social change<\/strong> when it occurs and humbly and transparently acknowledging potential negative impacts<\/strong>. We hope to keep moving in that direction and help promote rigor<\/strong>, humility<\/strong>, and transparency<\/strong> in impact investing.<\/p>\n
