Creas Impacto bets on education in its first investment

Creas has made its first investment from its fund Creas Impacto FESE on the educational leader Trilema Group.
Led by Carmen Pellicer, Trilema Group is the leading Spanish-speaking educational reference and its mission is to contribute to the transformation of the educational system in Spain and Latin America through accompanying schools and training teachers.
Creas has pioneered impact investing in Spain and Europe and its new fund, which held its first closing a few months ago, has a target size of 30 million euros and intends to make 12 to 14 investments in four major areas of focus: education, health, environmental sustainability and social innovation.
Trilema Group has developed its own educational model, the Rubik model, which includes its proposed transformation through simultaneous improvement in six key aspects of school life: curriculum, methodology, evaluation, organization, leadership and customization.
Trilema Group has developed its own educational model, the Rubik model, which includes its proposed transformation through simultaneous improvement in six key aspects of school life: curriculum, methodology, evaluation, organization, leadership and customization.
In the past eight years, Grupo Trilema has trained more than 75,000 teachers, has created a global network of more than 30 public, private and private (the network of learning schools) schools and is collaborating with important institutions such as the Fundación Princesa de Girona, the Spanish Development Cooperation Foundation or Danone.
Creas Impacto has invested 1 million euros in Trilema Group in order to support its consolidation as a leader in teacher education, geographic expansion in Latin America (Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina in the first phase), development of training online as well as the creation of new digital products that support the new educational model and management.
With this investment, we seek to contribute to the reduction of school failure in Spain, which is double the European average and is one of the most pressing problems of our country. The goal is to transform at least 90 schools and train 30,000 teachers in the coming years. "The investment made by Creas will allow us to continue investing in educational change from teacher training. A change will only be possible if it focuses on students, helping them learn more and better, and also teachers, allowing them to adapt to the needs and specific needs of each student characteristics; that is, to personalize learning. Combating school failure necessarily involves enhancing what the child does well, know what your skills and qualities to help in their learning and understanding of the world around him, " said Carmen Pellicer, president of Trilema Group.
"We are very excited to be part of Trilema Group. If something needs education in Spain, it is to innovate to rescue the essentials. A sustainable future is a child with the opportunity and the right to an education that strives for excellence. Our first investment bets on that child, on the real transformation of the educational model and the opportunity to make it grow in the long run, "said Javier Armentia, president of Creas.
