Creas Impacto, the first B Corp fund in Spain
Creas Impacto has been certified as a B Corp for meeting the highest standards in terms of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
Creas is now part of a growing community made up of more than 3,000 companies at a global scale, including almost 100 in Spain from different industries and of varying sizes, such as Patagonia, Triodos or Ecoalf.
Creas Impacto, a benchmark in the field of impact investing, has been certified as a B Corp for meeting the highest standards in terms of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
B Corporations (or B Corps) are a growing group of companies that are reinventing business, using their market power to develop an increasingly inclusive and sustainable economy. They are leading a global movement of people who use the power of business to generate positive impact.
In the words of Emilio Ayanz, Partner in Creas, “we are very proud to have achieved this milestone. Firstly, this is an opportunity to revisit the pioneering spirit we were born with more than 10 years ago, and to become pioneers once again, like so many times before, as the first fund to be certified as a B Corp in Spain. In addition, this certification we have earned, and the efforts we will make to keep it and maintain it in the long term, will bring consistency and rigour in terms of what we do, how we do it and why we do it. Finally, creating a meaningful world implies creating and contributing to the growth of communities with shared purposes, such as the B Corp community of companies”.

The B Corp Certification measures management performance in the company as a whole and covers five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers. There is a strict certification process, and companies must earn more than 80 points and provide evidence of responsible social and environmental practices, including the supply of energy, the use of water and waste, workers’ compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete this process, the company must legally state its commitment to this social purpose in its articles of association.
“We are delighted to welcome Creas Impacto to the B Corp community”, says Pablo Sánchez, Executive Manager at B Lab Spain. “This community strives to reduce inequalities, respect and regenerate the environment, strengthen communities and create high-quality, decent, purposeful jobs. Creas is a new member of the B Corp community, a living example of how these results may be achieved”.
