Responsible production and consumption

Patatam is a French company specialised in giving a second life to clothes, acting as a middleman between major operators (individuals, brands and mass retailers). Besides, Patatam favours the labour market inclusion of people at risk of exclusion (long-term unemployed persons and youths without access to a first job).

 

Problem
The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world. Fast fashion generates waste and precarious jobs at origin (production) and at the end-of-life stage of the product.

 

Solution
The process of recovering, selecting and reselling through mass retailers reduces production requirements, lengthens the product’s lifetime and makes it possible to hire personnel with low qualification levels, offering them decent working conditions.

 

Impact
Patatam seeks to reduce CO2 emissions and the water and chemical consumption of the industry, while also ensuring a better quality of life for more than 500 people.
